Nissan has built the Patrol since 1951 — through the 60 series, the leaf-sprung 160 and 260, the coil-sprung Y60 and the Y61 that served Australia, the Gulf, Africa and the United Nations until 2024 — alongside the Navara and Hardbody pick-ups since 1986, the Terrano and Pathfinder, and the American Xterra of 1999–2015. The Qashqai, X-Trail, Juke and the crossover Pathfinder have no low range and are outside the registry.
Seventy years of the Patrol: the 4W60 of 1951, the 60 series of 1960–80, the leaf-sprung 160 and 260 (MQ and MK), the coil-sprung Y60 of 1987 (GQ, and the Australian Ford Maverick), and the Y61 of 1997 — Australia’s until 2016, the Gulf’s, Africa’s and the United Nations’ until 2024.
Nissan’s four-wheel-drive pick-ups since 1986: the D21 Hardbody, the D22 of 1997, the D40 of 2004 and the NP300 (D23) of 2014, built in Japan, Spain, Thailand, Mexico, Argentina and South Africa and sold as Navara, Frontier, Hardbody and NP300; the D23 also carried the Mercedes-Benz X-Class and the Renault Alaskan of 2017–20.
The station-wagon Nissans with low-range gearing: the Terrano (WD21) of 1986 and its North American Pathfinder twin, the Spanish-built Terrano II of 1993 (sold as the European Ford Maverick), the Pathfinder R50 of 1995, and the Xterra of 1999–2015 with its PRO-4X locker and Bilstein package.
