Guy Motors of Wolverhampton built the Quad-Ant field artillery tractor from 1938 — the four-wheel-drive design that shared the Royal Artillery's tractor role with the Morris C8 — and on its chassis the Guy Armoured Car, the first British armoured car with an all-welded hull, and the Lizard armoured command vehicle. Before them came the rigid six-wheelers Guy supplied to the War Office and India from 1926, among them the FBAX 3-ton 6×4.

Guy's four-wheel-drive field artillery tractor of 1938–44: a closed, sloped-sided steel body for six men on a 3,327 kg chassis with a 60 hp Meadows 4ELA, built to the same War Department requirement as the Morris C8. Sources give about 4,000 built.
The Tank, Light (Wheeled) Mk I of 1938–40: a Woolwich Arsenal design on a rear-engined Quad-Ant chassis and the first British armoured car with an all-welded hull. Five prototypes and 101 production cars, 50 Mk I and 51 Mk IA.
21 armoured command vehicles built by Guy in 1940–41 on its Lizard 4×4 chassis, a development of the Quad-Ant, with a Gardner five-cylinder diesel.
Guy's rigid-frame six-wheelers of 1926 onward, with an articulating rear bogie, as War Office lorries, gun tractors and an armoured car for India, and the FBAX 3-ton 6×4 of the 1930s. Commercial Motor recorded in 1945 that Guy had supplied several thousand six-wheelers to the government.
