International Harvester built the Scout from 1961 to 1980 — 532,674 of the 80, 800 and II at Fort Wayne, with the Traveler, Terra and SSII — and put factory four-wheel drive on its Travelall wagon and light-line pick-ups from 1956 until it closed the light line in 1975. The Scout was the model the Bronco and Blazer were built to answer.
International’s recreational four-wheel drive, 1961–80: the Scout 80 with its slant-four, the 800 with sixes and V8s, the wider Scout II of 1971 with the Nissan diesel from 1976, the long Traveler and Terra and the open SSII — 532,674 built at Fort Wayne, the model the Bronco and Blazer were made to answer.
International’s full-size four-wheel drives, 1956–75: the Travelall wagon with factory four-wheel drive from 1956 — years before the Wagoneer — and the R/S, A/B, C/D and 1000-series pick-ups and Travelette crew cabs on the same chassis, the working trucks of American farms, utilities and public agencies until the light line closed in May 1975.
