The Navara line is the working Nissan of Africa, Asia, Australia and Europe: a ladder frame, part-time four-wheel drive and a low range, in single, king and double cab bodies. The D22 stayed in production in several markets long after the D40 arrived, and the D40 of 2004 moved the truck up into the European lifestyle-pick-up class.
The NP300 of 2014 brought four-cylinder diesels and, on some versions, coil-sprung rear suspension, and its chassis was licensed to Mercedes-Benz for the X-Class and to Renault for the Alaskan — both dropped in 2020.
