Daihatsu built ladder-frame four-wheel drives for twenty-eight years: the Taft of 1974–84 (Wildcat, Scat, Toyota Blizzard LD10), the Rugger of 1984–2002 (Fourtrak, Rocky, the Indonesian Taft to 2007, Blizzard LD20, Bertone Freeclimber) and the Rocky F300 of 1989–2002 (Feroza, Sportrak). The Terios and the later Rocky and Taft crossovers have no low range and are outside the registry.

The F70 series of 1984–2002: the short Rugger and long F75 with the 2.8 diesel, the Fourtrak of rural Britain, the Rocky of Australia and Europe, the Indonesian Taft GT and Hiline built by Astra to 2007, the Toyota Blizzard LD20 and the BMW-engined Bertone Freeclimber; leaf springs to 1991 and independent front suspension after Bertone’s 1992 redesign.



The small Daihatsu 4x4 of 1989–2002: the F300 Rocky with the 1.6 HD-E and a low range, the Feroza of Europe, Australia and Indonesia, the Sportrak of Britain and Bertone’s Freeclimber II with a BMW four.
