Cournil’s four-wheel drives were built in France from 1960 to about 1988: the Tracteur Cournil JA1 and JA2 at Aurillac, about 1,200 of them in the 1960s, then the Gevarm, SIMI and Auverland versions at Saint-Germain-Laval, 560 of them by SIMI to 1984, mostly for public bodies. The same design was licensed to UMM of Portugal in 1977.
The agricultural four-wheel drive Bernard Cournil built at Aurillac from 1960: a reinforced frame of his own, a body of folded 2 mm sheet with a steeply sloped bonnet from 1961, and a tractor diesel. About 1,200 were built in the 1960s.
The Cournil as built by its French licensees at Saint-Germain-Laval in the Loire: Gevarm of the Gévelot group from 1977, SIMI of the Belin group from 1980, and Autoland, renamed Auverland, until its own A3 replaced the design in 1986–87.
