Stonefield built forward-control 4x4 and 6x4 trucks with a space-frame chassis, permanent four-wheel drive and automatic gearboxes at Cumnock from 1978, with a Ford V6 (P3000) or a Chrysler V8 (P5000). The Scottish Development Agency owned the company from 1978; Gomba Holdings bought it in 1981 and moved production to Kent in 1983.
