Suzuki has built the small four-wheel drive since 1970: the LJ series from the HopeStar design, the SJ and Samurai of 1981–98 with licence production at Santana in Spain and as the Maruti Gypsy in India until 2019, the Jimny since 1998 (the 2018 JB64/JB74 and the 2023 five-door), and the ladder-framed Escudo, Vitara and Grand Vitara to 2017. The current Vitara and S-Cross crossovers have no low range and are outside the registry.

Fifty years of the small 4x4: the LJ10 of April 1970 from the HopeStar design Suzuki bought when Hope Motor Company failed, the SJ410 and SJ413 of 1981–98 (Samurai, Sierra, Katana, Santana in Spain, the Maruti Gypsy in India to 2019), the JB23 and JB43 of 1998–2018 and the JB64 and JB74 of 2018 with the Indian-built five-door of 2023.
The larger Suzukis with a low range: the Escudo of July 1988 (Vitara in Europe, Sidekick in North America, Geo and Chevrolet Tracker, built by CAMI at Ingersoll), and the Grand Vitara of 1998–2017 with the XL-7 of 2001 and the 2005 unibody with a built-in ladder frame — the last Suzuki soft-roader with proper low-range gearing.
