The brief was agricultural repair teams — men and tools, to collective farms, over roads that were mud for months at a time — and the cheapest way to meet it was to take the family saloon already on the line, lift it, and put a transfer box behind the gearbox. That is exactly what MZMA did.
The 410 started with the 1.2-litre flathead MZMA-402 of 35 hp; the 410N of 1958 took the overhead-valve 1.3-litre MZMA-407 of 45, and a four-speed gearbox arrived in 1960. The 411 estate is much the rarer and much the more useful. A three-door wagon, the 431, stayed a prototype, and the whole experiment ended in 1961.
