A four-wheel-drive saloon: the Moskvitch 402 raised and given drive to both axles, built for agricultural repair teams and country roads. 7,580 were made between 1957 and 1961, with 220 mm of clearance under the axles and 430 mm under the floor, wading to 0.3 m, climbing 33 degrees in first and reaching 90 km/h.

It is forty years early. A raised four-wheel-drive version of an ordinary family saloon, sold to people who had to reach places, is the crossover idea in 1957 — except that this one had a two-speed rear gearbox behind its three-speed (four-speed from 1960) and could actually do it. The 410 began with the 1.2-litre flathead MZMA-402 of 35 hp; the 410N of 1958 took the overhead-valve 1.3-litre MZMA-407 of 45 hp.
