The Travelall of 1953 was a panel truck with windows; factory four-wheel drive came in 1956 and the four-door body in 1958, and by the 1961 C-series it was a five-door wagon on a 119-inch wheelbase with International’s sixes and, from 1969, the 304, 345 and 392 V8s. The light-line pick-ups took the same drivetrain, and the Travelette of 1957 was the first factory crew cab.
International sold the Travelall and the 4x4 pick-ups to rural families, utilities, ambulance converters and the Forest Service rather than the suburbs, and closed the whole light line in May 1975 to concentrate on heavy trucks and the Scout.
