Ford Australia’s Broadmeadows studio designed the T6 Ranger as a single world pick-up to replace the Mazda-based Ranger and Courier, launched in 2011 with the 2.2 and 3.2 Duratorq diesels and built at Rayong, Silverton and General Pacheco; the Wildtrak headed the range, the 2015 facelift added the Everest wagon on the same chassis, and the 2019 Ranger Raptor put Fox dampers and a Watt’s-link rear under the pick-up.
The second-generation T6 of 2022 brought the 3.0 V6 diesel, a wider track and the 3.0 EcoBoost Raptor, and returned the Ranger to North America (2019, at Wayne) and the Everest to Australia’s best-seller lists; the Bronco of 2021 shares the architecture. The Everest of 2003–15 was the earlier Mazda-derived Ranger’s wagon for Asia-Pacific and India (as the Endeavour).
