The 200 Series of September 2007 kept the 100’s layout — ladder frame, independent front suspension, coil-sprung solid rear axle, full-time four-wheel drive with a Torsen centre differential — on a stiffer chassis with the 4.7-litre 2UZ-FE and, from 2008, the 5.7-litre 3UR-FE petrol V8s, and the 4.5-litre 1VD-FTV twin-turbo diesel for Australia, Europe and the Gulf. Crawl Control and Kinetic Dynamic Suspension were new.
Toyota announced the ten-millionth Land Cruiser in August 2019, most of the last million being 200s and Prados. Facelifts came in 2012 and 2015; production ended in 2021 for the 300 Series, which dropped the V8s for twin-turbo V6s.
Launch and the 5.7 V8 (2007–2012)
