The VC and WC Dodges of 1940–45 were the army’s ¾-ton trucks: weapons carriers, command reconnaissance cars, radio trucks, ambulances and the 6x6 WC-62 and WC-63. They went to the US Army, the Commonwealth and the Soviet Union under Lend-Lease and their chassis became the civilian Power Wagon of 1946.
The M37 of 1951 replaced them with the same 230 six in a new body; it carried infantry, radios, stretchers (the M43) and command parties (the M42) through Korea and Vietnam until the Kaiser Jeep M715 and the Dodge M880 took over.
