The Dakar trucks

Kamaz-master was formed on 17 July 1988. The truck is a 4×4 with the cab set well back behind a long bonnet, about 1,150 hp from a 13-litre turbocharged six, and a 1,000-litre tank placed over the rear wheels so the weight sits 50:50 — which matters more than power on a rally raid.

The K5-generation 435091 is quoted at 12.98 litres, 8,600 kg dry and 10,200 kg laden, 6,900 mm long and 165 km/h. The team did not start the 2023 Dakar, having not signed the documents attached to the 2022 ban on Russian and Belarusian entrants; it has run the Silk Way Rally nationally since and returned to international competition at the 2026 Taklimakan Rally.
