The Ferret took the Dingo’s ideas and made them last. The H-drive and independent suspension gave it a working life few reconnaissance vehicles match: British service ran from 1952 to 1991, and Commonwealth and other armies kept theirs into the 1980s and beyond.
The sixteen marks covered open reconnaissance cars, turreted cars with a Browning, the Mk 2/6 with Vigilant anti-tank missiles, and the big-wheeled Mk 4 and Mk 5 with flotation screens and, on the Mk 5, Swingfire.
