Chevrolet’s compact and mid-size four-wheel drives: the Isuzu-built LUV 4x4 of 1979–82, the S-10 pick-up and S-10 Blazer of 1983–2005 with the wide-track ZR2 of 1994–2003, the Suzuki-built Tracker of 1989–2004, and the Colorado since 2004 with the 2017 ZR2 and ZR2 Bison.

The LUV was Isuzu’s KB with a Chevrolet badge and the first Chevrolet compact 4x4 in 1979; the S-10 of 1983 was GM’s own, with the S-10 Blazer built against the Bronco II and Cherokee, Insta-Trac shift-on-the-fly, the four-door of 1991 and the ZR2 wide-stance package of 1994. The Tracker was the Suzuki Sidekick and Grand Vitara built at CAMI in Ontario for Geo and then Chevrolet.

The Colorado of 2004 replaced the S-10 with Isuzu’s help; the 2015 generation from Wentzville brought the Duramax diesel and the ZR2 of 2017, the first mid-size truck with spool-valve dampers and front and rear lockers, and the Bison with AEV armour; the 2023 generation continues both.
