Oshkosh built its first airport crash truck in the 1970s and the Striker replaced the T-series in 2001; the second generation of 2010 brought the TAK-4 suspension and electronic controls.

The 4x4 Striker 1500 and 6x6 Striker 3000 serve airports worldwide; the 8x8 Striker 4500 is outside the registry.
