Kamaz's all-wheel-drive trucks

Naberezhnye Chelny was laid out in 1969 for 150,000 trucks a year, and the 4310 is what it built for the army: a 6×6 with permanent all-wheel drive, single tyres on all three axles, a tilting cab and six tonnes on the 10,857 cc KamAZ-740 V8. Prototypes ran from 1972, production from 1981 to 1995, and the engine went from 210 hp to 220 in 1989.

The 43114 that succeeded it in 1995 kept the displacement and found 240 hp; the 43118 above it had taken over the civilian side by mid-2016. The Mustang family — the 4×4 4350, the 6×6 5350 and the 8×8 6350, sharing a cab and a chassis — was accepted into Russian Ground Forces service in 2002 and has been in production since 2003, on the turbocharged 740.13.260 of 250 hp.
