FV430 series

The FV432 has been in service since 1963 and still is, which makes it one of the longest-serving armoured vehicles anywhere; the fleet peaked at almost 2,500 in the 1980s. It is 5.25 m long, 2.55 m wide and 2.28 m high.

The series around it: the FV431 load carrier, of which one prototype was built before the Alvis Stalwart took the job; the FV433 Abbot 105 mm self-propelled gun, built by Vickers; the FV434 maintenance carrier with a 3,050 kg crane; the FV435 Wavell and FV439 signals vehicles; the FV436 command vehicle with Green Archer or Cymbeline radar; the FV437 amphibious pathfinder, prototyped only; and the FV438 Swingfire missile launcher.
