History
Citroën half-tracks made the first motor crossing of the Sahara in 1922–23, crossed Africa in the Croisière Noire of 1924–25 and Asia in the Croisière Jaune of 1931–32, went to the Antarctic with Byrd and to northern Canada with Bedaux in 1934, and towed the French artillery into 1940. Later four-wheel drives served the Spanish Guardia Civil, French forces overseas, utilities and fire brigades, and won the Dakar four times.
