GAZ’s four-wheel drives were the Red Army’s: the GAZ-61 staff cars of the marshals, the GAZ-64 and 67 command cars and gun tractors of 1941–45 and Korea, and the GAZ-69 of 1953 that equipped the Soviet Army, the Warsaw Pact and the Middle East’s armies for twenty years, with the M-72 Pobeda 4x4 for the countryside’s officials.
