The 410 at work

Soviet country roads were mud for part of every year and the collective farms still needed their machinery mended. The 410 was the cheap answer: the car already being built in Moscow, raised, with drive taken to the front axle as well.

9,095 were made in four years and then the idea was dropped. It would be another forty before anyone built a raised, four-wheel-drive family car again and called it something new.
