White in service

11,401 scout cars allocated to Lend-Lease, more than 53,000 vehicles on the M3 half-track design, and the six-ton trucks that carried the engineers' bridges.

White ranked 54th among American corporations by the value of its wartime production. The M3A1 Scout Car went to the British Commonwealth, the Soviet Union, China and the Free forces, and after 1945 to Asia and Latin America — France in Indochina and Algeria, Israel in 1948, and Madagascar reportedly still in 2024.

The half-tracks were shared work: White, Autocar and Diamond T built the M3, International Harvester the M5 for Lend-Lease. White built the M13 and M16 gun carriages itself, 1,103 and 2,700, and 568 M13s were converted into M16s.
