Military Nissans

The 4W60 of 1951 was built to a Japanese National Police Reserve requirement, and Nissan supplied the Self-Defense Forces alongside Toyota and Mitsubishi in the decades that followed.

The Y61 became a standard light vehicle outside the West: Gulf national guards, African armies and Asian police forces run wagons and cab-chassis versions, often with weapons mounts, and the Navara serves the same role as a pick-up. The UN’s white fleet is the civilian side of the same choice.
