The Pick-Up, the Papuc, was Romania's everyday light truck for three decades; the four-wheel-drive versions of 1999–2006 took it onto farm tracks and building sites with a higher towing limit than the rear-drive trucks.
The Duster Pick-Up began as a fleet order: OMV Petrom needed a light 4×4 to reach and service its oil and gas wells across Romania, and Romturingia at Câmpulung Muscel cut down Duster 4×4s into two-seat pick-ups — 500 for Petrom, the first ten on 7 October 2014. The second-generation truck of 2020 was sold to anyone through Dacia's Romanian dealers. In May 2018 ACF Industrie showed a Duster 4×4 fitted in an hour with rubber track units, lifting it 21 cm and limiting it to 60 km/h, for the Gendarmerie's snow, mud and marsh work.
