The B 3000 was built to a directive: three tonnes, simplified, standard. The A-type drove all four wheels from 1940. Bombing destroyed the Bremen-Sebaldsbrück works in 1944.
The B 2000 A/O came with the new army in 1955 and was mostly a nine-seat Kübelwagen. Unimog and Magirus took the role from 1961; Büssing built 168 more for the Federal Border Guard until 1968, and the last were decommissioned in 1975 — seven years after the truck outlived the company that designed it.
