Mowag in service

Mowag has never had a civilian range to fall back on beyond the ambulances, fire appliances and postal vans of its early years, so its history is the history of the armies that bought from it — first Switzerland, then West Germany, then, through the Piranha licences, most of the western alliance.

The Duro is the working vehicle of that list: a tactical transport drawn for mountains, in service in Switzerland, Germany, Venezuela, the United Kingdom, Denmark and Ireland, and reworked in Germany as the mine-protected Yak. The Eagle is the patrol vehicle, and the Piranha the armoured carrier that outgrew its maker.
