The TPK's job was the last few hundred metres: ammunition forward, wounded back, across ground and water, under fire. Every feature follows from that — the watertight hull, the 285 mm of clearance, the folding controls and screen, the air-cooled engine with no radiator to lose.

It served from 1961 to 1975 in three marks. Nothing took its exact place afterwards.
