Iveco built the VM 90 on the Daily’s mechanicals to give the Italian Army a light truck it could afford in numbers; the Torpedo carried ten men, the ambulance took stretchers off-road and the VM 90P added armour that was judged too thin for the wars it met.
The LMV was designed around a protected capsule from the start and sold across Europe in the 2000s; the British Panther Command and Liaison Vehicle is its best-known export, and Russia licence-built it as the Rys until 2014.
