The 5,798 cc six-cylinder direct-injection Perkins diesel of the 4.236 family (98.4 × 127 mm), up to 155 hp turbocharged. ACMAT's VLRA used the naturally aspirated 6.354.4 at 120 hp SAE in the 4×4 and 138 hp in the 6×6 in 1982; every ACMAT was Perkins-powered from 1979.
