History
Daimler-Benz took over the Unimog from Boehringer in 1951 and built it at Gaggenau for 51 years, moving production to Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks at Wörth in 2002; the G-Class was developed with Steyr-Daimler-Puch from 1972 and has been built at Graz throughout, with the Bundeswehr’s Wolf, the Peugeot P4 licence and the Puch G among its versions. The company became Daimler AG in 2007 and Mercedes-Benz Group in 2022.
