Australia’s Land 121 Phase 3A order was the W461’s largest: 4x4 and 6x6 G-Wagons with Australian-designed modules by Varley and others, replacing the Land Rover Perentie; the 6x6 with a bogie rear and portal-free axles gave Mercedes the platform for the 2013 G 63 AMG 6x6.
