The Polish Army bought about 135 Citroën-Kégresse half-track chassis on the 10 HP B2 in 1924 and armoured 90 of them in Poland as the Samochód pancerny wz. 28; the rest became all-terrain lorries.

Two prototypes were delivered in 1925 and the first series in 1927, with a 37 mm Puteaux SA 18 gun or a Hotchkiss machine gun; final assembly was at the Centralne Warsztaty Samochodowe in Warsaw with Baildon armour, and all 90 were complete by 1930. Slow and unreliable, they were rebuilt from 1933 as the wheeled wz. 34 with a Polski Fiat engine; three or four wz. 28s remained in 1939.
