The first production Citroën half-tracks: Adolphe Kégresse’s rubber-tracked rear bogie under the 10 HP Type B2, with its 1,452 cc four of 20 hp and a three-speed gearbox with a reduction gear on the rear axle. The K1 was accepted by the Service des Mines on 11 January 1922 and the P4 T on 17 November 1924; 1,134 half-tracks were built on the 10 HP chassis between 1921 and 1926.

The record
Kégresse had run the Tsar’s garage and fitted tracks to its cars before the Revolution; back in France he showed André Citroën three half-tracks on the 10 HP chassis in October 1920. The K1 was sold in short (1.48 m), medium (2.25 m) and long (2.35 m) wheelbases as a tractor, a four- or eight-seat camionnette or a bare chassis, with an all-terrain, a wider snow and a long-distance raid track. Five K1s made the first motor crossing of the Sahara in 1922–23 and eight P4 Ts the Croisière Noire of 1924–25. Year by year, Citroën built 8 in 1921, 118 in 1922, 317 in 1923, 68 in 1924, 619 in 1925 and 4 in 1926.
