The record
Developed from a prototype chassis of 1959, the Transocéanic, it was designed for sub-Saharan Africa and the Sahara, with a cyclone pre-filter to its oil-bath air cleaner and an all-metal load bed proof against damp and termites. It served the French Army and the armies of the Central African Republic, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Mauritania, Senegal and Chad; Saudi Arabia tested it in 1966 without adopting it.
