The 78 replaced the 75 with coil front springs and a 2,980 mm wheelbase; the 2007 update brought the 1VD-FTV V8, the 2016 update a wider track and the 2023 one the 2.8-litre four with an automatic. It is the vehicle most associated with the UN and with remote Australia.
