The 76 replaced the 74 as the family and fleet wagon of the 70 range, sold in Australia, Africa, the Middle East and, in its 2014 and 2023 returns, Japan; the V8 of 2007, wider track of 2016 and 2.8-litre automatic of 2023 followed the rest of the line.
