Kégresse P21 (Croisière Jaune China group, 1931)

The heavy six-cylinder half-track built for the China group of the Croisière Jaune: a 2,650 cc six, a four-speed gearbox and a bogie with two sets of rollers, 2,700 kg as a bare chassis. Seven were built for the expedition; the commercial P21 A was accepted in 1936.

The record

Under Victor Point the China group left Tianjin on 6 April 1931 with seven P21s, two C6 F lorries and three C6 F tourers, and was held at Urumqi by the provincial governor from late June to November 1931 before meeting the Pamir group and driving on to Beijing, reached on 12 February 1932. Haardt died of pneumonia in Hong Kong on 16 March 1932. At least five P21s returned to France for exhibition; none survives.
