Toyota built a lighter 70 Series on coil springs front and rear with the Hilux engines for buyers who wanted a small wagon: the Bundera in Australia, Land Cruiser II in Japan and Europe. The Prado 70 of 1990 developed it into a longer five-door and the Prado 90 of 1996 made it a separate line.
