The Valkiri entered service in 1979 and was first used in combat in August 1981 during Operation Protea. Wikipedia's Valkiri article gives the Mercedes-Benz Unimog as its carrier, and the Unimog-mounted launcher is the better-documented version; the SAMIL 20 launcher rests on the Jane's 1985 listing and Military-Today, and no dates for it are published.
