The record
The 1974 redesign gave the Unimog a new cab and the heavy 425/435 chassis; the U 1300 L became the Bundeswehr’s two-tonne truck (some 20,000) and the 437 series carried the range from 1988 to 2013 with turbocharged engines and up to 240 hp. Gaggenau built them until 2002 and Wörth after; the 437.4 UHN of 2002 replaced them for the military and expedition market.
