The 100 Series wagon of 1998–2007 on a 2,850 mm (112-inch) wheelbase, the first Land Cruiser with a V8 (the 4.7-litre 2UZ-FE) and, on the 100, independent front suspension; the 105 kept the 80's solid front axle and the 1FZ-FE and 1HZ engines for Australia, Africa and the Middle East.

The record

Toyota split the 100 Series in two: the 100 with torsion-bar independent front suspension and the 2UZ-FE V8 or 1HD-FTE turbodiesel for the comfort markets (and the Lexus LX 470), and the 105 with the 80's coil-sprung front beam axle and six-cylinder engines for the working ones. The 200 Series replaced both in 2007.
