History

Alvis built cars until 1967 and military vehicles long after. It absorbed Land Rover’s military arm when it bought Automotive Technik, maker of the Pinzgauer in Britain, and acquired Hägglunds of Sweden in 1997; BAE Systems bought Alvis Vickers in 2004. One of the few makers with major wheeled and tracked lines.
