The record

The CJ-7’s 93.4-inch wheelbase gave the Renegade a proper hard top with steel doors and, from 1976, an automatic gearbox with Quadra-Trac full-time four-wheel drive; the V8 ended in 1981 and the 258 six and 2.5-litre four carried on to 1986. Renegade CJ-7s wore the striped bonnet through several redesigns of the decal.
