The record
Dodge’s wartime trucks were the middleweight of the American army between the jeep and the 2½-ton six-wheelers: the VC and WC half-tons of 1940–41, the ¾-ton WC-51 and WC-52 weapons carriers, the WC-54 ambulance and the WC-56 command car. Their chassis, engine and gearbox went straight into the 1946 Power Wagon, the first civilian four-wheel-drive truck from a major maker.
