The French maker that built the Mercedes-Benz G under licence as the Peugeot P4 for the French Army from 1981 to 1992 (13,500) with its own engines and gearboxes; Panhard rebuilt them as the P4 Panhard from 2010. Peugeot also sold Dangel’s four-wheel-drive 504, 505 and van conversions as catalogue models from 1980.

Peugeot won the French Army’s light-vehicle contract of 1980 with a licence-built G-Class carrying the 504’s petrol and diesel engines and 70 per cent French content; its own four-wheel drives (the 504 and 505 Dangel conversions, the Landtrek pick-up) are a separate row in the manufacturers list.
