History

Nissan built the 4W60 for the Japanese police reserve in 1951, took the Patrol worldwide with the 60 and 160 series, and gave it coil springs in 1987; the Y61 outlived its own replacement because aid agencies, armies and desert drivers would not move to independent suspension. Nissan’s crossovers are outside the registry.
