History

Nekaf was set up in 1948 to assemble Kaiser-Frazer cars for Europe at Rotterdam and, when Kaiser owned Willys, took the Dutch Army’s 1955 order for the M38A1, assembling it from American parts with Dutch lighting and fittings until 1962; a few hundred went to the Marines and the Air Force. The Army ran them until the Land Rover and later the Mercedes-Benz G replaced them, and the Nekaf is the classic Dutch military Jeep.
