History

The Armoured Car was designed by Guy but built by Rootes’ Karrier division on the KT 4 artillery tractor chassis; the Karrier name was dropped to avoid confusion with the tracked Universal Carrier, leaving Humber’s on it. The Pig was built with Joseph Sankey & Sons of GKN and the Royal Ordnance Factories, and was rearmoured in the 1970s for Northern Ireland.
